Labyrinth

We think that our vineyard is a very special place. We sit at the south foot of a mountain overlooking a long, lush valley and we can see, in the distance, islands floating in the straits that separate the U.S. from Canada. Great feng shui.

How to share the power of this place? Why not build a labyrinth, we thought.

A labyrinth is an ancient, geomantic pattern defining a path that coils toward a centre. Walking a labyrinth encourages introspection and meditation, its spiraling path a metaphor of our life's journey. It is said that labyrinths collect and focus energy, and that in a labyrinth you find yourself.

With the help of energy sensitive friends, we found the perfect spot for a classic seven-circuit Cretan labyrinth between our hundred-year old apple orchard and our pond. We built the Labyrinth in June 2004 and invite visitors to walk through it.
